HOBBIES and OTHER INTERESTS
Coach Tom Spiros built this truck in 1995. The truck was driven for 5 years in some
of Cleveland's Ohio worst winter seasons. The truck was used as Tom's daily driver.
Then each spring and summer, the truck had an active career in drag racing as a
weekend warrior at some of the best drag raceways in the Northeast Ohio area. At
the drag race scene, Coach Tom was known as " Tommy Nitrous ".

TOM'S PIT CREW
Coach Tom designs his

Tom raced this 1964 Malibu from 1973 to 1975 on the streets of
Cleveland . Tom was unbeaten in this car for those two years of street
racing. For a $ 100.00 purse per run, cars from all over Ohio came to
Cleveland to race Tom. Tom raced many challengers from Cincinatti
and Columbus. Tom ran against THE GREEN GENIE ( Carl Estep ) ,
DUCES WILD ( Kenny Hughes ) and TEACHERS CAMERO ( Ward
Brothers ) to name a few of the more famous cars and drivers.

Tom sez....
" In those days, we used to cruise the Manners Restaurant to look for
races. We would race all night long until dawn. I am so glad i was part
of those good times. Racing at the track was fun too! Time slips,
reaction times, 60 ft times etc.

But when we would meet at 3:00am to race for $100 in cash, this is
when all the work on the car paid off.

Good memories and good luck to all my race friends - Tommy Nitrous
